Hi, I have this D90 wich is too old and cheap to be sent to any kind of service. I was wondering if someones been fixing cameras and knows how to solve this problem.

When lens not attached, camera seems to be working fine. You press button and it takes a photo. Everything works. When I take lens, any lens, and put it on, all still seems to be ok. I can AF, all automatics work fine, untill I take a picture.

It takes one picture. Only thin line is visible as normal, everything else is black. I remove the lens, an see that the mirror is stuck in middle. I press shutter few times and mirros step by step goes up with every press, and releases. Then it works again with no lens. If I put lens on, same problem again.

Any good Ideas how to fix this myself? I have fixed lot of lenses and changed shutterunits to cameras so I do have equipment to dissassemble the camera.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

A wild guess: the only thing I can think of that's different with a lens attached is that it has to wack the aperture to the set value when a lens is attached. Perhaps there just isn't enough power to hoist the mirror and wack the aperture? Either that or maybe there's some sort of mechanical coupling that ensures timing of the two motions and it is worn and sticks in its travels when there is force on the aperture?

Can you see if the lens does stop down (and reopen after) when the shutter is fired?
