Opera Tokina? Symphony? Concerto?
So the 50mm 1.4 Opera by Tokina is out and some are already singing its praises.
Seems ok but I find the price completely unpalatable. Tokina is no Sigma and they don't have an "ART" reputation yet. Also, that's hardly a competition if everyone comes out with the same price or keeps on increasing price.
Lens is HEAVY, though slightly smaller than the 50 Art in diameter.
I guess it is a positive to have another manufacturer introduce a similar product, perhaps that will put negative pressure on the prices? Although somehow I doubt it if they didn't even undercut the Sigma by $20?
Any early indication that other focal length "clones" will follow in line to compete with the Sigma Art? 85mm Symphony? 105mm Concerto? 135mm Maestro?
