If you can't see the differences in rendering shown in both of those threads, then you have nothing to worry about Scott — for those of us agonising over these details, it's because moving to 35mm Full Frame is an opportunity to go back to a 1:1:1 sensor but fear that SIGMA will continue with Quattro.

I'm not a professional photographer so cannot justify buying another camera so in a way... I hope that it is a Quattro, because then I won't want it anyway.

And if you can't see the difference in focus point between the vase comparisons you shouldn't be agonizing over details. Or that the second comparison is a prime vs a zoom. Too many independent variables.

To say nothing of the fact that a full frame sensor is going to render differently if for no other reason than the difference in focal length.

Shawn

In the 1st example both the Focus point and DOF (significantly so) are different, but I've looked past that as they're the examples that Scott chose. As it is, I can still see a difference in how the images are rendered.

There's a better example floating about with fruit, a wicker basket and a cushion but given that I'm happy with my SD1M, I'll just butt out.
