Really happy with my early purchase

After having used a D200 and then a D800, I hesitated for a long time about buying a D850, to the point I had it in my hands in a merchant in Orchard St in Singapore. I hesitated enough to let it go and when the Z7 appeared I thought the time was ripe to get into mirrorless.

I reserved a Z6 at my local (and trustworthy) dealer in Toulouse, thinking that with the 36 Mpixels of the D800 and the 20 something of the Z6 I would be set.

When I attended a small event (Nikon events are usually small) 4 days ago, the owner told me they had still two Z7 in stock. I did not took too much convincing and ended up with a Z7+PTZ+24-70 in my trunk, plus a Series G 64 GB XQD card offered by Nikon Europe to the first buyers, a 180 EUR purchase.

I am really impressed, in part because of the generations I had skipped (810 and 850), in part because of the maturity of the mirrorless technology. The lens, too, is amazing, and probably the best fit for a light mirrorless camera, with a very homogeneous quality throughout the frame: definition, CA, etc...

I have more than 20 lenses, from the 200-400 mm VR I to the kit 35-70 f3.5-4.5 lens in the price scale, and from the 24-70E to some modified non-AI in the age scale: I can use them all with varied degrees of usability. My beloved 85 mm f1.4D will lose AF but that is some small price to pay.

I have not really put it through its paces but all usability scores are there, the quality of the image with the lens is great for the few pictures I have taken since, the battery lasts several days with normal use, Snapbridge works pretty well for a Nikon software development, and it is a very light setup.
