Nikon D3500 first impressions

Got the Nikon D3500 this evening. Update with some preliminary pics tomorrow when I have a chance.

-The grip is deeper but smaller. Takes a little getting used to but is fine once you shoot with it for awhile.

-Being a lefty, having the i button moved to the right also took some getting used to.

-Same exact AF performance as its predecessor. Basic but very competent for the most part.

-Image quality about the same as well (superb) but the color response has been tweaked a bit in Standard Picture mode. Auto White Balance has improved considerably. But photos look too cool when you switch it sunny weather mode.

-Live view AF continues to improve. While it still doesn’t hold a candle to Canon’s dual pixel AF, performance is reasonable in most shooting situations.

So that’s it for now. I’ll add more when I shoot with it a little more.
