I'd second the G80/G85

The G80 (also known as the G85) may be the camera to look for. It's a G7-style body and comes with both mic input (unlike the GX80) and stabilisation with 4K video (unlike the GX8).

Though it might be worth waiting a week or so to see if Panasonic announce an updated version of the G80/G85 with a 20MB sensor. I think this is quite likely as it's about due (the GX85 was updated to the GX9 a few months ago, even if Panasonic named it as an update to the GX8), and it would also be a good opportunity for Panasonic to show continued commitment to the MFT system with all the buzz about their new full-frame system going around at the moment.

Nonetheless, the current G80/G85 is an excellent camera.

Fully agreed. The G80/G85's not as compact as the GX80/GX85, but it's incredibly capable for the price, particularly for video due to the mic jack and flip screen. And the 12-60 it typically comes with is lovely; sharp and weathersealed and a useful zoom range. I think the G80/G85 is one of the best all-around cameras for under US$1000 that's ever been made, in any lens system or for any sensor format.

I have both the G85 and the GX85. I love'em both. G85 for video and bad weather, GX85 for social situations and discreet street shooting.
