The SONY OSS G Macro FE 90 mm F2.8 (SEL90M28G) is extremely sharp at close distance (not a bag thing for a macro lens!).

Lens rentals tested 5 or 6 macro lenses at both infinite and 1:2 magnification ratio. The tester was surprised how some lenses (including the SONY) had much better MTF curves at 1:2. The SONY having the best center sharpness of the bunch at 1:2.

This clearly question test of macro lenses done at long (and usually unknow) distance.
