This lens is designed for aps-c, the front element is not so large while the aperture is large. I think there will be noticeable vignetting.

I think Canon will release a lens profile. These profiles can come later than the lens itself.

I download these profiles to my desktop and upload it to the camera. It is not really a firmware update.

How do you do that? I have an app in my  Canon folder called 'EOS Lens Registration Tool' which I think I read once would update lens information in a camera. However when I just ran it, it says  'camera not recognised' so it  may be old junk from years ago.

In DPP there's a little button in the lens correction section which, if I remember the video series I watched the other day, will download the latest lens profile or profiles for DPP's use.
