Should Nikon share the Z-mount
2

Yes this thread is a little provocative ,I know. But in the FF mirrorless "war" something interesting seems to happen. Some of the camera companies seem to embrace third party lens support to get their system an advantage.

Sony openly works together with Zeiss, and more or less openly with Tamron

The breaking news now is that Panasonic will not only join the Leica SL-mount, but also partner up with Sigma.

This means we could have something along the lines of Panasonic-Leica-Sigma vs Sony-Zeiss-Tamron vs Nikon vs Canon. Is it really a good idea for Nikon to close the mount for third parties? Some people even claim the new mount is especially designed to be patentable.

If this comes true and third parties won't adopt Z-mount, how much do you think this is going to hurt Nikon?
