No.... I simply noted that Nikon AND CANON provide pass-thru adapter support for far more lenses -- 90 for Nikon, hundreds for Canon. Only 11 unique ff lenses for Sony (and only 26 total).

Couldn't part of this be attributed to the fact that Canon and Nikon have more lenses in their DSLR systems?

Only partially. The A-mount catalog has 136 lenses between Sony and Minolta. So there are plenty of lenses. But only 20% get LAEA3 AF. Only 11 unique FF lenses.

Actually: 17 unique full-frame lenses with motors in that work on the La-EA3 and give AF... there are another 9 APS-C

If you look at current a-mount, ef-Mount, and f-mount lenses:

100% of Canon are pass-thru adaptable.

95% of Nikon are pass-thru adaptable.

of current Sony a-mount, only about 50% are pass thru adaptable.

..and the rest can be used with the LA-EA4 adapter, which brings AF compatibility up to 100%...

If you search for lenses here there are 108 Canon EF lenses, 81 Nikon FX lenses, and 46 A mount lenses- keep in mind the Canikon lens counts are full frame only, whereas that A mount count includes crop stuff. A mount is missing a lot of key lenses- no FF 35 or 50 1.8s for example. Maybe it's not an adapter problem....
