Doesn't look good for an updated G3 X. ☹️
The G3x has some critical flaws that prevented it to reach high enough sales :
- slow in RAW
- slow AF
- no EVF
Since these flaws are still not corrected, it cannot be a good seller. The question is why canon didn’t bother correcting then since digic 8 and an EVF can bring significative improvements (and moderate improvement in AF if no DPAF). May be it is because the G3x is simply badly positioned in the market :
Agree completely. Slow AF and slow RAW were simply stupid omissions and the camera never should have been released like that. The G3X without the EVF was already very expensive to begin with and to tack on an optional EVF made it even more so. And guess what?...Sales are slow. What a surprise. Once again, I lay this squarely at the feet of Canon’s marketing department. Too bad too because the build quality is very nice.
Agree with you again that DPAF and Digic 8 would make this a very nice Mark II version. I really hope the company introduces one.
