Fix for clamshell horizon in a panorama?

I've been trying to stitch a panorama in both LR and PS using a series of images shot at 17mm on a DX camera. The issue I'm running into is that a portion of the pano is over water, so any irregularities with the horizon are extremely obvious. This lens at 17mm has barrel distortion that apparently neither LR nor PS take into account or correct for when stitching the panorama (despite the fact that I applied lens corrections to each image in LR before attempting to stitch). The result is a "clamshell" horizon in the final pano. If anyone has any tips or techniques to fix this issue and level out the horizon, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks!
