Interaction of IS an shutter shock

I remember on the EPL1 I had some problems with SS to the point of double images. And I also remember that it almost completely vanished when I set IS of ALWAYS. I simply concluded that IS did more harm than good.

Now I have acquired the 14-140 3,5/5,6 and I have some sharpness problems, first on a G5 and moved it to EM10 and though that solved it. But about 30% of images have this horrible mushy look, especially when NOT at 14 mm.

My question is this: would it be possible that turning off IS could minimize SS?

Actions taken so far:

- moved lens from G5 to EM10

- updated firmware of lens from 1.0 to 1.2

- set IS mode from AUTO to mode 1

Also there is these strange "misty" halo's around brightly colored objects.
