Sony A7iii - Different Histogram for in-camera jpeg processor and Lightroom

The A7iii's jpeg preview is giving me a huge headache, in particular, its on-camera JPEG engine. I had underexposed images that appeared to be of correct exposure in camera as the JPEG processor had compensated for it and upped the brightness. Only back in lightroom did I realize the image is underexposed.

I understand some of you would suggest reading the histogram. The issue is that the histogram greatly differs between what I see in-camera and Lightroom! I didn't had much of this issue on the A7rii but on A7iii, the jpeg rendering seems overdriven to a extend that it would artificially up the brightness to compensate for an underexposed image.

In-camera jpeg processing is as per default, any advise is well appreciated.
