Are large, heavy, excellent lenses a liability for Sigma?

Either way Sigma has made a sale they didn't make before.


This is what happens with the other vendors. People add a body to their collection, try some adapted lenses, then buy proprietary lenses. Sigma are creating an unnecessary sales barrier against people who have other systems but have heard about this Foveon thing and would like to experiment without initially committing all out.

Perhaps Sigma don't want increased sales because they haven't made many cameras!
