An of course Canon many release a couple new products too. But it's hard to imagine any scenario where the R is selling at a premium to the A73.

1) Nikon

2) Different market segments. Sony have stolen a good number of purchases from Canon at the high end, whereas Canon have eaten Sony's pie at the bottom. And this was wholly intentional on Sony's part - it's a lot more profitable to convert one 5D-level user (who presumably buys new gear yearly) and lose 3 A6000 buyers, than to do the opposite. The operating profits on each company back this up, too.
