Mirrorless - The four biggies ...
17

According to DPReview, main reasons for Mirrorless are:

"the four big ones are, in no particular order: more useful viewfinders, faster maximum frame-rates, potential for more advanced (and more accurate) autofocus with intelligent subject recognition, and seamless video integration. Some of those advantages are of course interrelated."

Over time I have heard other reasons that have proved erroneous such as significant weight reduction.

However, none of the 'four big ones' are features that I want/use/need and quite happy to forgo.

1.More useful viewfinder. I am quite happy with the OVF and the info contained.

2. Faster frame rates - Not something I need or want

3. More accurate Autofocus - Pretty happy with the D850 so no real advantage. I also use manual focus a lot so little benefit.

4. As for intelligent subject recognition, eye focus tracking may be of some use but after all, I am the photographer.

I know these are subjective and personal and others will find these 'features' of benefit.

Personally, I prefer the instantaneous OVF and the battery life which are far more important to me.

Just my thoughts but I hope Nikon will be producing OVFs for some time.
