And that is my personally point, it's not the gear, it's more what perspective do to the focal length of the lens and sensor size, your gear can give you, with that you can compose or captured a scene.

You can compose a scene with your KP/lens with a K1/lens with the same perspective, you need only an other focal length for a K1. On the other hand, the K1 can give your existing lens (like your prime lens) an other perspective (focal length), and that can makes the K1 so interesting for you, when you have a lens, which you like and where you would be happy to use it in it's other perspective (focal length).

But your existing gear do not restrict you in your choose for a specific perspective.

Those are all very good thoughts for sure, and yes, nothing restricted me on this shoot (not even, GASP! Auto focus). The only time I really angst over going FF is for the event work I do from time to time. I do feel a K1 sensor would give me cleaner shots at ISOs above 1600, however, the fastest wide lens is still a 30-35mm 1.4 range lens in the Pentax space. Would love to see a 24 or 28 F2 or faster for our lovely Pentax system.

A few years back I got a sigma 28mm 1.8. Great lens, very sharp and works well on my K5 as well as my K1 (it's a full frame lens). You might still be able to find one second hand. It's also macro, good all around. Would be nice if pentax decided to put out some newer designs in the wider range for lenses. Still, lovely pictures

I actually owned that for a bit but my copy was not useable faster than F2.8 sadly

As you may know, I use the KP and K1. For your decision if a K1 would be better for your work, my points are this:

• when you use a prime with a K1, but you can not zoom with your feeds, so that you must later crop the picture....when you have to crop into the APS-C frame area, the use of a APS-C camera like the KP with this prime lens is IQ wise than simply better.

Therefore, we can live with two body's in a kind of paradise now, since Pentax offer beside a APS-C also a FF.

When you do event work, maybe the D FA 15-30 could be your workhouse as a 15-30 mm lens on a K1 and a 22.5-45mm lens on your KP.

Same for the D FA 50mm, which is probably the new 'holy grail' as a 75mm portrait lens on a ASP-C camera, like your KP, and a great normal lens on a K1. In other words, it' ca. the new FA 77mm on a K1.

All in all, I think that your decision for a lens get way easier, when you decide to use both sensor formats, a FF camera and a APS-C camera, because than, you always covers two focal length with only one lens...and that can save a lot money two.

True, but I already have the DA* 16-50 for the event work, I would want something faster than 2.8 on FF to make a new lens worth it.
