Are we talking mirrorless FF market? Right now Canon has a 0% market share in FF mirrorless. Sony started with a 0% share and is now on top. Sony going from 0% to#1 is a much greater change than Canon staying at 0% market share. All of Sony's FF mirrorless users were either new to the market or former users of another brand.

If that is what we are discussing But if total ILC sales is a more relevant yardstick of the state of the camera market then Sony has remained static and Canon has increased. It's of course good that there is a new market segment that hopefully will attract new consumers. However the danger for Sony is that with Canon, Nikon and possibly Panasonic entering this segment that the segment will not grow fast enough for Sony to retain its market share and effectively the only way is down.

Total ILC sales is obviously the relevant measure. It will be interesting to see how that looks in 12 months or 24 months time.
