Canon isn't going to lower the price much if they don't have to. The 6dII was really a huge disappointment and almost universally panned. It was and is kind of a crappy upgrade from the 6d.

I could see Canon doing a bundle with the basic adapter for 1999, but I don't see the price going lower unless they have really poor sales - which I highly doubt.

Personally, the Sony A73 would need to drop in price under 1500 for me to consider it.

I think the EOS R has a tough market. It's pretty much what a 6DII should have been but I think that moment has passed for many potential 6DII buyers. Many will have left Canon, some would have got the 5DIV and some would have reluctantly purchased the 6D.

In my opinion though it's what the 6DII should have been in 2017 and against the A7III and Z6 it's not a very compelling option. I guess they are relying on EF lens owners?
