800D+18-135/3.5-5.6 IS USM for travel
3

I am an enthusiast and mainly a 5D series user.

I have been thinking about a lighter travel combo. I considered super zoom and mirrorless. Considering IQ, flip out LCD and compatibility with my EF lenses I settled for this combo.

My main intention is to take family pictures while travelling and do some street/travel photography.

I have recently been to LA, San Francisco, Las Vegas and New York. Taking just one camera and one lens was liberating. I was able to carry it all the time. I didn't feel I was limited by focal length. Obviously, when pixel peeped IQ wasn't as good as 5DIV, but was pretty good. Lens was sharp except at the edges/corners which I didn't mind. Lens showed more CA than I am used to with L lenses, but these were easily removed with LR/ACR. I was able to get shallow DOF when I wanted. And loved the flip out LCD which I miss in my 5D IV.

Sharing some pictures. Processed with LR/Photoshop. I applied LR/ACR filters (artistic, vintage etc) on some pictures.

Modern filter applied

Sharp enough

Artistic filter applied

Flip out LCD was handy

Vintage Filter applied

Flip out LCD was handy

Overall, I am really happy with this combo.
