Re: Why Not Use Shutter Priority?

I agree with you 100%.  I have been an avid photography hobbyist for 62 years.  My Dad bought me my first good camera in 1956.  Everything was manual and I found that the most important thing to me was my shutter speed.  At that time, if I wanted to use color film all we had was Kodachrome which had an ASA (ISO) of 10.  The black and white films were faster but nothing compared to what we have now.  I was always trying to make sure that my shutter speed was enough that everything would not be a total blur.  I got into the habit of setting my shutter speed first and have always maintained that habit.  I really saw no reason to change and have read many articles about using the aperture control but I have never been convinced.  I do use auto ISO and love it.
