I know Canon don't release big firmware updates that add features but if they did, would it change your opinion of the EOS R?

So far the biggest complaints of the EOS R so far are:

1) 4K Crippling

2) No IBIS

3) Single SD card slot

4) Older sensor

5) FPS

Whilst number 2 and 3 and 4 can't be remedied with firmware, would a firmware release that fixed the other two encourage you to buy the EOS R?

What about waiting for the upcoming release of the better spec'd body rather than trying to firm fix the base model?

Part of the problem is also that the critics evaluate this model as if it were going to be the only one Canon ever released and thus had to be all things to all people.

We do not judge the 1DX series the same way as do the 5D series or the same way we do the 6D series. We don't say the 1DX is too big compared to the 5D, or that the 5D is too slow because it can't do the blazing speed of the 1DX. Why? Because we evaluate based on the market niche the camera is made for.

We don't as yet have the luxury of seeing the other models in the R series, but we still need to keep in mind that this is only 1 of at least a few bodies planned, each to fulfill a different niche.

Yup... I'm waiting.
