It would help to have an external flash.

Maybe you can do it with your onboard flash, but hard to say.

You can create a DIY onboard flash modifier.

There may be better options if you run a search. Here's one that came up.

You lose some of the flash power in exchange for better-controlled and softer light.

Edit:

Well, maybe ignore that above link for what you want to do. That's the opposite of what you need since it'll give you more light spread.

I couldn't find something for onboard flash, but this is the idea.
