It should be fully functional. But such adapters can be developed.

Consider the (different) "Canon lens mount adapter for M-mount":

A Pentax fully-functional adapter would include a small subset of what it already in Pentax SLRs. And examining my K-1ii and K-3ii suggests that there would be plenty of room in the front-to-back size of such an adapter, Which would be at least 25mm.
