Update to "adapters" @ 2018-09-09

The extended base of the Nikon FTZ adapter

Unlike the new Canon RF adapters, the new Nikon adapter has an extended base, down to the level of the base of the camera.

According B&H, this adapter "Includes integrated tripod mount". I suspect that means it has at least one 1/4" tripod bush.

For interest, according to Amazon USA, the (different) Canon M-mount adapter, which has an extended base, has the following characteristics:

109 grams
Built-in aperture motor
The extended base has two 1/4" tripod bushes

My K-1ii plus D FA* 50mm f/1.4 is very front-heavy, and I wish it had some sort of forward tripod mount.

On a (hypothetical) Pentax new-mount mirrorless camera plus adapter, I would hope that the adapter would have at least one 1/4" tripod bush, for such heavy lenses.

Weights of the new Canon RF adapters

According to B&H:

Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EF-EOS R
(Canon 2972C002)
130 grams

Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R
(Canon 2971C002)
110 grams

Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Circular Polarizer Filter
121 grams

Canon Drop-In Filter Mount Adapter EF-EOS R with Variable ND Filter
(Canon 3443C002)
121 grams

(Approximately the same weight as the Pentax DA 1.4x Rear Converter, (126 grams). Which I consider to be a light-weight accessory that I sometimes just slip into a pocket of my jacket or cargo trousers).
