Poll Time! Will you buy the R Locked

Option 4. Not because I love DSLR, simply because the R is neither here nor there. As I have just a DX body and 3 lenses (one of which a helios 44-3) I'm not committed to just one system so I was and am looking at all the FF mirrorless cameras around the 2K mark with interest for an upgrade.

There's obviously no reason not to look at Canon. It still is not up to par on sensors but it's second to none so far as lenses are concerned and at least where I live, most third party lenses for canon (such as sigma and tamron) are 1-200€ cheaper than the same ones for the F mount, which certainly is positive on the long run.

Needless to say, I was hugely disappointed. The absence of an AF joystick is already a no-go for me, the sensor not being BSI (or even new? I'll need to wait for an analysis on that but still) and most probably inferior to sony's and nikon's and also, yes, IBIS not being there, I mean, no canon, just no. I don't really care what the preeminent forum engineers have to say to that, I don't see a good reason not to have it on a 2500€ camera, none whatsoever. Yes, lenses are undoubtedly good (on paper, for now) but not the kind of lenses I'd be able to afford now (or anytime soon).

I was annoyed at Nikon's launch and its choice of a meh battery and one card slot (which is still stupid to be glad about in a 2k camera, no matter what anyone else says) but Canon certainly made me rethink about it in a more positive way.

Right now it's pretty much Sony and Nikon, I'll be waiting to see what Pana will come out with (more out of curiosity than anything else, I don't really care about video features, I want a camera for stills first and foremost) and then I'll choose. Not Canon though, so far as I'm concerned they dropped the ball on this.
