Any former Nikon user?

Hello All:

Couple of years ago I had an X100T and found extremely difficult not to clip highlights in sunny days outdoor. I tried several exposure modes, with and without the electronic shutter, with and without the built-in ND filter but It was so frustrating to get it right that I ended up selling the camera. Perhaps also influenced in my decision that I had the Nikon DF at the time and it got the perfect exposure always, even in auto mode.

I am sure it was me not being used to the ways of Fuji and not being able to find the right settings. I now want to buy the new X-T3 ( dont have the DF anymore) but I am concerned since I have seen lots of overexposed photos taken with different Fuji cameras in Flickr and elsewhere in bright sunny days. I do want to believe is just user error. I do remember when I had the X100T it took great images inside so my exposure troubles were outside exclusively.

Any former Nikon user here that have had the same issue when switched to Fuji and was able to find the proper settings or combination of settings to nail a perfect exposure on bright sunny days? I would appreciate some sharing.

Thanks.
