By the way, you asked about the (not included) lens hood in another thread, but I don't know if anyone answered. The Canon USA site is listing the new ES-60 hood for US $55.

I found this online titled: "ES-60 - EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM"
.
Shown "attached" to the 32mm f/1.4 lens... Might explain the $75 figure? Looks like I might not be buying a lens hood if this is what they had in mind. Seriously Canon, it's to protect the lens from flare and impact... Surely this is either not to scale or the image was randomly chosen.
.

FOUND ONLINE: Titled as found: ""ES-60 - EF-M 32mm f/1.4 STM" from a camera dealer.

CORRECTED : Based on measurements and the fitting of other hoods, I've altered the image to what I suspect is closer to the actual look of the hood. The lens will be closely fitting to the base of the hood with no real gaps showing. This type of barrel-shaped hood isn't as popular or appealing as Petal-type hoods. It's also much larger than I would like. At least the body of the lens unit will be fairly small without the hood.

Can't be? That hood seems too big for a 32mm lens. I hope this isn’t true. 😉

Considered EF 50mm F/1.4 and its hood, this corrected is plausible.

EF-M 32mm becomes 51mm equivalently.

Yes. I think you are right. I just found this:

ES-60 lens hood

They could have made something nicer for this lens, I think.

Lens hoods are overrated, and a protective filter also does a good job protecting the front element.
