Pentax can only get one D-FA lens out per year as of recent and still have a long roadmap for the K-1.

And, knowing this, I cannot think it realistic enough to consider a new Mirrorless body that will require updated lenses on a new mount.

Pentax is in a corner because Ricoh played the cards too conservatively at a time when the market was shifting to other technologies.  Of course, over time, they could become the premier DSLR brand (if Canon and Nikon eventually move completely to MILC).  But then Pentax and DSLRs as a whole become even more niche.   Thinking long term here.

You're more likely to see K adapters for Nikon Z and Canon R bodies than Pentax launching a FF MILC with a K mount adapter in the next couple of years.
