FIXED MY CAMERA AT NOT COST

OMG yes the life worked rmexpress22, thankyou so much, although its a different camera it was exactly the same problem.

so i studied the post, then set about dismantling the camera, being careful I noted where all the screws went as I go.

The trickiest bit was actually removing the rubber grip sections at the left hand side of the camera surrounding the plugs and sockets, behind this grip are 4 hidden screws that must be removed to take anything off at all.

Note: you do not need to remove the circular silver lens attachment frame.

once you have removed the black casing you will need to remove the two flash controls cables at the front of the camera and the 2 smaller button control cables at the back. there are two other cables that need to be detached on the right hand side, a large white cable at the bottom right and a flexible PCB with a plug on it at the top right, gentle force will free these up, and they were easy to reattach.

I was shocked at the switch mechanism used to turn the camera off and on, its a sprung super skinny 3 way switch that should always try to get the middle position, mine had gotten stuck in the camera mode. once I had it out I waggled it until loose again and the switch returns naturally to the centre position. I was surprised how small and flimsy this switch was but i was shocked that is was not screwed to anything, instead the switch was mounted directly onto some flexible PCB then either end of the PCB slotted into holes in the mount frame. but its not securely attached at all, terrible design imo.

anyhow thanks so much - i hope alot of people see this
