Hi Barry,

Thanks for your reply. What I meant by "worked over" is that I can add saturation, sharpen, adjust exposure, etc. and the DNG files appear to process the same as my JPEG files with Picasa and Faststone. I really like the Kodak color pallette and usually set my cameras to Vivid as it gives them a bit more bold color without being over the top.

And thanks for your compliment my Flickr photo gallery which is Kodak Pixpro camera specific.

A raw file has vastly more flexibility for editing than JPEG. But that only matters if this is needed for the images concerned.

I suspect that the combination of the JPEG quality from your camera, and the fact that your style ensures you have good quality JPEGs, means that your editing is within the range that can be supported by your JPEGS. So raw offer no advantage, and it is then reasonable to apply the same processing to both.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if factors such as exposure and white balance needed more extreme editing. I would expect raw files would be more resilient than JPEGs.

(Or there may be a different explanation!)

Barry, pretty much my thoughts too. I see lots of work on trying to improve RAW images from these small sensor cameras and have yet to see any "wow" images from a RAW small sensor camera. I do think excessive noise might be easily removed though.

Here's a link to some of my photos hosted on mega.nz that allows my DNG files to be loaded. The JPEG file is next to the DNG and I can't see any differences. So maybe I'm not using a correct software program to process DNG? I'm confused..again..lol.

Look at the Pixpro AZ652 folder. https://mega.nz/fm/MnwXSA6D

I'm reluctant to create an account with MEGA to see those images. Is there another way of seeing them?

Thanks for trying. I'm trying to figure out how anyone can view. Hang on.
