Yes, gcam, but it was an older version.. I have 3.8 right now.

The Google Pixel has one of the best photos out there and the main reason is the HDR+ algorithm which Google only gives to nexus /pixel phones.

Some developers took the camera app from the Pixel 2 and made it work (mostly stable) on other phones. This is called a port.

So on my LG V30 I don't use the LG camera so that came with the phone anymore, I only use the GCAM so (Google Camera = GCAM). Quality is much better, noise reduction isn't as aggressive and dynamic range that will put big sensor cameras to shame

Great photos. I had this phone. The wide angle camera is so much fun while traveling. Really miss that and the headphone output on my Pixel 2

Yeah, that's the main reason I don't switch to other brands.
I heard Samsung are going to implement it too in the next phones.
Anyway you have have the best camera phone on the market right now (best in Auto mode anyway), I use gcam which helps a lot, but it's not as good as on the Pixel2.

While I agree (and it was the main reason I got the Pixel 2 along with the fact LG weren't informing when they were going to update their phones to Oreo), I feel I am sacrificing way too much for just the camera. Compared to my V30, it doesn't have a wide angle, headphone jack with the quality quad dac, expandable storage and a better design. Given a choice, I'd have all those features and use cstark's Gcam

We just loved Slovenia. I want to go back to another visit one day. Right now I'm hiking in Reunion (beautiful island far away). I'll upload some photos when I'm back.
