I have always preferred prime lenses and my go to has been a nifty fifty (or equivalent in crop sensor formats). Loving the a7iii and the Sony 55mm f1.8ZA, but that combo is just a little heavy for me to carry around all day. I’m trying the Sony 35mm f2.8ZA as my everyday walk around lens. I like it a lot, but the shorter focal length is taking some adjustment.

I know that a 35mm is the prime focal length of choice for many casual and street photographers. I’ve checked Flickr, and I would love to see what members of this group are doing with this particular lens and other 35mm primes in full frame.

Thank you all.

I've always been incredibly impressed. Admittedly, most of my "work" is taking snapshots of my daughters, but yeah, excellent, tiny and light 35mm lens.

hey I've been using my zeiss 35 along with an a7ii and have been loving it. its ultra light and very compact. I decided to use it as my main lens for landscapes. Here is a picture I captured with it yesterday.

Thank you all.

I don’t do too many landscapes, More street and people. Technically the 35mm is just superb, no doubt. After mostly shooting with a 50mm for so long I’m having a bit of a challenge adjusting to 35mm. I’ll need to learn to “see” in 35mm or suck it up and carry the (phenomenal) 55mm f2.8ZA. Or go back to aps-c with a-6500, but that would be hard after shooting with the a7iii. First world problems, I know.

Thank you all for your help. Some really nice shots there.

The Sony is the only 35mm lens I have. I love the focal length for its versatility, and the tiny size of this lens, which makes it quite unobtrusive.

My favorite lens. So small and versatile. Here's my German Shepherd Maximus.

I love the 35mm focal lenght and use a Sony RX1. If you are looking for a light and compact FF 35mm solution you seriously should consider a used RX1. Weigth is only 480 grams with the lens. IQ wise there is nothing comparabel in the FE lens series so far. If you need the AF capabilities of your A7III for your shooting style then the RX1 is probably not for you.

But the RX1 is very versatile. In the link below you can see images all taken with the first gen RX1:

Be gentle, this was my first outing with my A7rii and first outing with the 35mm f2.8 zeiss, all handheld and SOOC

Loved it

Only thing that has forced me to give up on it is the heavy amount of vignetting on it. Really not impressed with that one factor but feel its too big to ignore. Great apart from that. Maybe they should release a mk2 of this lens
