Another thing I have noticed is X-E2 seems to underexpose by 1 stop when in very low light.
Fuji X-E2 - 0 comp - EXIF attached
Fuji X-E2 - +1 comp - EXIF attached
The second shot however is in line with the exposure settings of other cameras - so it is just a metering issue on this X-E2.
Interesting....
Fuji recently had a firmware update for the X-E2 -
" The firmware update Ver.4.11 from Ver.4.10 incorporates the following issue:
1. The phenomenon is fixed that exposure control can work wrongly when aperture priority with M mount adaptor. "
To be honest, I didn't really know what that meant - however it seem to mean they could be addressing an exposure issue with manual lenses when using the M mount adapter.
I don't have an M mount adapter, so waited a few weeks before doing the update (giving enough time for any problems with the update to be revealed)
The other night I tried some handheld exposures in low light just to test my ability to focus and hold still - first shot was at +1 stop comp, and...
Fuji X-E2, 7artisans 25/1.8; +1 comp - EXIF attached
the exposure shutter speed seemed longer than normal and the result looked distinctly over exposed, just to be sure I shot 5 more frames - and indeed not only did I have problem holding still - they all looked over-exposed.
Dialed exp comp back to 0 - taking 3 shots to be sure -
Fuji X-E2, 7artisans 25/1.8; 0 exp comp - EXIF attached
That looked better but still a bit brighter than I expected - dialing in -0.3 exp comp - (again taking 3 shots to confirm)
Fuji X-E2, 7artisans 25/1.8; -0.3 comp - EXIF attached
to my eye that looks about right...
So it appears that the X-E2 new firmware 4.11 - may have corrected the exposure anomaly I saw earlier.
