Meikon a7RII with vac valve
1

The Meikon housing doesn't come with a vacuum valve, so I added the Ikelite type to it (IK47012 $185).  I installed it in the position of the top mode dial which does not connect to the camera and has no function.  1- Remove mode dial.  2- Use spot face tool with pilot to remove mode dial turret.  3- Drill 7/16 hole for Ikelite valve.  4- Install valve.  An overnight test at 5 psi vacuum was successful.

The Ikelite valve is low profile, and the hand pump has a gauge that gives a readout of vacuum pressure without guessing.  No batteries needed.

Original mode dial

Mode dial turret after mode dial removal.  Turret molded with case.

Installed vac valve.  Red rubber seal washer under valve at case surface.  Wall thickness 0.2".

Inside housing, valve retaining nut.
