I am new to the m43 systems. On my fuji xt20, I let it go up to 12800 sometimes. I've read suggestions to keep it maxed at 3200 on m43. What do you guys think?

The difference with the G9 is there is no need to go to 12800 due to its superior IBIS comparing to your XT20. For scenery or portrait, you can shoot the G9 at 1600 instead of 12800 on the XT20 and still maintain at least 3 stop advantage, i.e. 1/15 sec. instead of 1/120 sec. with same aperture.
