A counterfactual hypothesis
6

Suppose - just humour me for a minute and suppose - that we existed in some parallel world where  all recent mainstream cameras had only an electronic viewfinder, and someone then proposes a new "reflex" design with an optical viewfinder utilising a pivoting mirror and top-mounted pentaprism.

Can you imagine the comment there would be on that world's equivalent of DPR? There might be a few voices that recognised the benefits, but I suspect the overwhelming comment would claim it was a backwards step.
