Culling battle

I was fortunate enough to be granted access as a photographer to a Historic Car race at our local race track yesterday. And ended up with more than 3,300 photographs!

So now I am battling to try and whittle down the number of photographs to something more manageable. Part of my problem is that far too many photographs are technically acceptable by my standards (for whatever that is worth...) so I am struggling to decide what to delete and what to keep. While I am trying to be ruthless, at the moment it seems that I am still ending up keeping almost 40% of the photographs. This means that I am still going to end up with >1,200 photographs! This really is far too many so I will have to do a second round of thinning out.

On top of that I am taking a lot of time editing so many photographs that I am not deleting: it is going to take DAYS to work through all of them.

The following is an example of the type of photograph that I am deleting because I prefer some of the others in the same burst:

Example of one I am keeping from the same sequence:

I will HAVE to work at being more disciplined/ruthless....
