Would anyone buy a PL100400 that needs repair?

I have a PL100400 that I cracked the mounting flange upon receipt.  No other  apparent damage.  I took it to a respected camera repair center (Kurt's) which is an authorized Panny repair center, who told me it's a $50 part plus labor (just unscrew old flange, screw on new one).  But then they were told by Panny the part was not available.  Panny repair told me it would be a $75 diagnostic fee and they only replace with a refurbished one, which I couldn't afford.  So my question is whether the lens is of value to someone who would be able to either use it, use it for parts or repair it, and how I could market this.  Or is there another PL weatherproof lens that uses the same flange and could be bought used and cannibalized?
