Why I love the flip and rotate screen vs the simply flip

Because if I want a portrait version of the same shot I can still get it and see the screen.

Portrait-oriented shots from down low are the only times I could use a full-articulating screen. There are not enough of those times to justify putting up with the disadvantages of that design. (For my type of shooting)  Of course if it suits you, that's what counts.
