i have had every version of the x100. Each had its plusses and minuses.

The original had the 12mp bayer sensor and there are still people who swear by that. But it had some real operational quirks.

I loved the improvements in IQ brought by the 16mp xtrans in the S. Operationally it was a big improvement too. Basically the same cosmetics and only slight UI changes from the orig, which is not necessarily a bad thing.

The T had significant cosmetic and UI changes. These were an improvement on the S. But i never felt the performance or IQ were any better.

The F has significant improvement in performance. I finally had total confidence in AF. It nailed shots and quickly. But a couple of the UI tweaks were irksome. I hated the placement of the Q button. The new front command dial marred the appearance for me and drove me crazy under my index finger. Changing flash settings became a real PITA too. I did however like the iso dial - which is controversial. IQ was slightly better at highest iso settings but in all other situations was about the same or maybe even a little less pleasing.

So when all is said and done a genuine argument can be made for the S or T, particularly when cost is factored in.

I liked the X100S.

Needless to say it did a great job outdoors but I used it a lot for indoor shots because the 35mm perspective was just about perfect for a normal size room.

There's always going to be newer cameras with additional or "improved" features but when it comes to a camera that's dependable and provides consistently good results the X100S is hard to beat.
