Bicubic Interpolation for larger prints possible ?

Curious years ago I thought that in photoshop you could use

Bicubic Interpolation which is A slower but more precise method based on an examination of the values of surrounding pixels. Using more complex calculations, Bicubic produces smoother tonal gradations.

Curious if this works for printing larger prints and if anybody has done it in real world vs theory.

If anybody has done this ?

If So does it improve print quality or allow larger prints ?

Thanks,

Jay
