Tamron SP 150-600mm f/5-6.3 G2 - Panning/Autofocus Problem

Hello,

I love to photograph planes/birds in flight. I have used a Tamron 150-600 g1 lens with pretty good success but I still wanted more in terms of image quality so I bought the G2. The G2 was returned 1 month after I purchased it May 2018, focusing would search and then stop, out of focus. I sent the lens away for repair, problem solved.

Now on my first outings when I attempt to get those crisp clear planes in flight or even birds in flight by panning, the images are not as expected, not tack sharp in fact crappy. Panning and auto-focus don't seem work in these cases. Is this my lens or is this a characteristic of the G2 product? Anyone with similar issues? I've never had this much trouble before adding a new lens to my kit.

Thanks folks,

Dave
