Astrophotography | Rokinon vs. Sony

Hi Everyone,

I currently have a sony a7riii and the 16-35 GM. I tend to do quite a bit of backpacking and wanted a fairly lightweight solution to cover me for my landscape and nightscape needs. So this has worked for me up to this point but I've always though of getting a dedicated astrophotography lens (not deep space or anything, just milkyway nightscapes). My question is would the rokinon 14 f2.8 or 24 f1.4 perform better than the 16-35 f2.8 that I currently have?

I realize that those lenses are either wider or brighter than what I currently use but I'm concerned that they won't be as sharp or as good of IQ and ultimately give me a similar or worse result.

Thoughts?
