i concur; it is all that you say and reasonably priced too.  i have both the 180 f2.8 and that lens and, honestly, when i was shooting MF primes (er, it has been a few years), the 200 went with me more often than the 180 just due to mass.
That said, 180 is the bees knees for indoor work particularly such as ballet or basketball games.

Semi-professional in early 1970s; just a putzer since then. interests: historical sites, virginia, motorcycle racing. A nikon user more by habit than choice; still, nikon seems to work well for me.
