Thanks, Ben. Was your glowing report and photos that helped me get an M100, so I much appreciate your response. Just one more question (for today)--I shot a bunch of pix today in RAW+Jpg and they imported to LrClassic as CR2+JPG. Now, when I edit those files in LR, which am I editing? Is there some special handshake that gets me to the RAW file, and are the editing tools those in the same right-hand panel used for editing JPG files?

Looking for the Secret Sauce, I remain,

CR2 is the RAW file. Canon's DPP 4 (downloadable free from Canon support if you have a body serial number handy) is the secret sauce as far as RAW conversion and lens correction go. I also use DxO Optics Pro which is better for noise reduction and correcting converging verticals but has no lens profiles for EF or EF-S lenses on M-series cameras.  LrClassic should be able to edit RAW files but it's not a program I use.
