What lens/technique to use for night sky shot (Atacama desert observatory)

At the beginning of October I'll be visiting the ALMA telescope at the Atacama desert in Chile.
It is one of the cleanest places in the world when it comes to light pollution. The altitude is 5060 meters (16,000 ft) and the air is thin and clean.

I have a 5D mark II, and: 50mm f1,8, a 100-400 f4, and the kit lens.

I am looking for recommendation of lenses which I would rent if needed. I also also would like to hear some tips from people who took night sky shots, and can share techniques.

.

Thanks!

Arie
