Why all this red bleeding on sunset photos?

Over and over again I am hit wth "red bleeding" when ever I try to shoot a sunset. It happend even with Canon 40D, 10D, SX20IS, and now with SX60HS.

it is not reality at all. It takes time to fix this.

Why is this happening all the time, and is there any setting(s) that can eliminate or at least minimize this strange, bothersome, unrealistic color effect?

At sunset I always seem to get red around the setting sun. How can I get rid of it with camera setting?

Camera vs. real world
