This is a sort of follow-up to Ben Herrmann's recent "don't even consider selling your NX" thread. Last week I was on a four day outdoor shoot and the NX1 with both S lenses was my main kit. It turned out to be the only equipment I needed. Temperatures varied from bright sun with heat in the 90s F to stormy windy weather with torrential rains. Still, we shot every day and the NX1 and both S lenses never missed a beat. I did try to keep the equipment as reasonably protected as possible in the rain, but did not miss a shot.
Now due to my usual needs for long glass, I am accustomed to using my Canon equipment most often lately. But once returning to the NX1, I immediately felt how comfortable it was in my hands, how natural and easy it was to set all the controls without taking my eye from the EVF, and how effortlessly I could set exposures and focus in any weather. The NX1 was like an old friend, ready to do my bidding without complaint.
The final 80 image documentary is already complete with only a minimum of post processing required (Sorry, pro shoot - I won't be posting images here or in the public areas of my website). But I did want to say here, as long as I have WARM, LIVE HANDS, no one's pulling my NX equipment from them. Samsung's NX program may have COLD, DEAD HANDS, but its progeny will live on and prosper for a long time to come.
